Old backlog item originally created by Ned in Asana:

  • Would need polyfill for IE: https://www.npmjs.com/package/css-vars-ponyfill
  • Would require a build step for webbook themes, but would eliminate the need to recompile upon upgrade/Buckram upgrade/saving theme options
  • Would (maybe) address scoping issues with webbook content styles
  • Reference implementation to come!

Current browser support ~96%: https://caniuse.com/#feat=css-variables. Supported in Prince since v. 13: https://www.princexml.com/releases/13/
