Verona Template - Support for mails app tree structure mail folders

Hello!
My team has a license for the verona template which we are using on an application to make a mail client.
I am working based on the mail app that is provided on the template, but my problem is that the folders list on the side panel is one dimensional whereas on most mailbox clients that is tree like as you can create subfolders to organize your emails.

I thought about using the prime tree component but I dont think it would allow me to set the number of unread emails on that folder as the input on the menu item is a label property that accepts the text to show on button not some custom html.

Any help would be very appreciated,
