Also is it using REST Api or using the wsk CLI.

By default, FaaSProfiler uses the REST API. Check out HTTPInstanceGenerator in synthetic-workload-invoker/WorkloadInvoker.py to see how.
Experimentally, this has lower overhead compared to WSK CLI
