Those default service endpoints are just examples and don't point to a live backend. You'll need to deploy your own backend, as described here. The example backend asumes you have an AWS account, but I'm pretty sure it will all work in the free tier. Once you deploy your backend you'll be able to find your new service endpoints and API key in the output when you run sls deploy. You can find it on the AWS Console, too, but that is a little tedious.
