To make more realistic and impressive screenshots for papers, the following extension should be implemented:

  • Set a background colour in the UI and save it in the scene file
  • Use a colour picker to set the background colour from the rendered scene. This is especially useful for scenes that contain a horizon OPC (cylinder projection provided by JR).

Afaik @luithefirst has a sky model rendering that could also be configured for a "realistic" martian sky

This can be well merged with the photosphere product. See as first existing example Job_0181_8199-034-iof_mosaic.zip on the JR ftp server. We are starting to generate this as a standard product very soon

Hey @AndrewAnnex!

Initial implementation of screenshot background color for the screenshot service available under config/screenshots. Also, pixel width, height, image format and background color are saved with the scene

@ThomasOrtner okay I think that is a good start and it's likely easy enough for me to make a pr for this on the main viewer as well

Key shortcut for screenshot
Allow more transparent setting of zoom level (not easy to predict what comes out, without actually making the screen shot and looking at the result)
Remember (serialize) color in scene
Allow higher output resolution than 16k
