There are multiple occurrences of same cities with different latitude and longitude. It show millions of cities records in the world. There are 27,74,830 records in the cities table while there are 20,77,157 unique city records.

Hi. I bet this is because multiple cities may exist in the world with the same name. Search for Vernon for example in Google Maps.

But there are some empty cities that repeat many times
