Roadmap of ALIAS protocol delivery

Medjawii edited this page May 17, 2019 · 1 revision

The ALIAS personal data decentralization protocol will be delivered in 4 steps to enable users to share the data they want to the entity they want.

Centralize and Automating GDPR data portability request

GDPR requests are useful but it is still a nightmare as user to handle them all. The process is not centralized and can be cumbersome for users. Sometimes it is by email, sometime by mail, all the email addresses are not all the same to reach the Data Protection Officer.

The first iteration will be to centralize and automate GPDR requests via a legal tech platform that will handle the legal process and manage the export and storage of the data (manage the storage, not necessarily store the data) The second step will be to determine when it’s worth how many time can we do this request and how much we can automate it.

Applying ALIAS decentralized protocol for user Data Portability and Export

Once we have generated lots of GDPR requests and interacted with lots of DPOs, we need to guarantee for users and developers a technical mean to easily and securely store and transfer data from one provider to an other. For that we will deploy ALIAS protocol, based on OAuth2.0 framework to decentralize identity providers authority. At this point, anybody can become an authorization provider on the network via the one source ALIAS protocol. and we will be the first of them.

Automating data export via Login Buttons and permissions management

Once we have implemented the protocol, that is following current OAuth 2.0 standards, the next step will be to create UI elements, login button, permissions grant windows (pop-up or redirection) and ALIAS SDKs to enable developers and entrepreneurs to easily set up the data transfer in their applications. The first project of ALIAS is planned to be to contribute to Mozilla CommonVoice project, to enable people to export their A.I. Siri, Alexa, Cortana or Google Now data to contribute to open research of A.I.

Monetizing data for users and platforms

Once we have reach the point where developers can implement ALIAS protocol , users will be able to have a better relation with their platform providers because of :

  • The control they have on their data, so their identity relationship
  • They have more negotiation power because they bring with them a big quantity of valuable data. They can ask better experience, more features or for the ones who want, even perks and money.
