The error is caused by the installer script, your missing the PJ64Glide64.dll file in the Plugin\GFX folder. |
I'm doing standard Update:
|
Probably a project configuration issue on your end then. Nobody else has to use whatever that Microsoft fanboy jargon command you just pasted means, yet so far nobody else has mentioned issues building any modules. |
Yeah, as long as the main tools are MSBuild/Visual Studio, it is expected for them to work. Nobody else has to use whatever that GUI fanboy tools you expect everyone to use. written from a non-Windows computer |
No they aren't. /t:rebuild implies you're rebuilding; Ctrl+Shift+B just means build. The shortcut's not the same as doing Clean Solution then Rebuild Solution from the Build menu.
Yes, especially because for everyone, it has been working. With no msbuild command involved. |
@death-droid:
Again, this only happens in the Release configuration. Debug works fine. |
Found the defective commit: |
@JunielKatarn for build bot should be in vs2008 ... if you clone in to a fresh directory and build do you see this error |
@project64 I do see the error from a fresh clone, and also different machines. It's not related to a particular computer setup.
While relevant binaries will be generated successfully, the installer will complain about the absence of Glide64. It seems the mentioned commit broke the build order. Glide64 does get generate eventually, but the installer build will fail. One question, though. Why not aim for using the latest stable VS version (2013) for the build bot? |
all public releases are built with 2008, there is some issues with the build from 2013 on XP. Mostly the older VS is better for compatibility and if we are talking about testing it should be testing what is going to be released. |
Noted. Sadly, my infrastructure can't use such an "old" version (essentially, for me it's VS2010 or later). |
possibly #229 |
Well I too cannot use VS2008 because the trial expired. I use VS 2005 Express, 2008 Express, 2010 Express, WDK for i386 and amd64, and 2013 Community. Only that last one builds PJ64. |
@JunielKatarn i added some more dependencies to the the vs2013 build (12a49f7) so that it makes sure the glide plugin is there before the installer starts to compile |
I'll test today and let you know the results. |
Based on yesterday's commit:
f329b2d
Try to build the project with 'Release' config:
msbuild .\Project64.vs2013.sln /t:clean,build /p:Configuration=Release
Build fails. See attached log.
