Load an object onto the platter, move that object to start background processing, move the object again right when slic3r tries to process the platter, before it finishes. The object will disappear. Then if you click on the object in the object list, the app seg faults ( Unable to create bed triangles ).
Clean and fresh config. The only change that is needed is background processing turned on.

The code responsible for your issue was rewritten from Perl to C++, also the background processing should now work reliably. Please retest with 1.42 alpha once it is released this or the next week. Closing.
