Re-consolidate the docs with each other and the plugin template

Right now the docs for various plugins have diverged in several ways in wording and formatting, including e.g. some plugins did not get docs updates for typed repositories, and some plugins use separate script files that are imported into the docs whereas others use inline script. We should try to make this consistent to the greatest extent possible.
