Great suggestion - this is definitely a use case we'd consider when/if we tackle single binary support for automation API. Please take a look at this issue and upvote if you'd find it helpful! pulumi/pulumi#7219

Hello! I'm going to transfer this issue to the pulumi-java repository. That's where we're tracking Java-related feature requests. This helps us to triage issues specific to the Java language separately from issues related to the engine, CLI, etc.

Thanks very much for this feature request 鉂わ笍 I don't want anyone to feel like I'm shelving this issue in an icebox or anything. Transferring the issue will increase visibility and improve our ability to intelligently prioritization feature requests moving forward :D

Would it make sense to add this to #598 ?

Does supporting the automation api in Java necessitate pulumi/pulumi#7219 being done?

No. That should be orthogonal. Automation API support for Java could be added today in a similar form as the Node.js, Python and .NET support.

Would it make sense to add this to #598 ?

Yep - added!
