Build Dependencies for Debian and Red-Hat #152

Please write what dependencies and build-dependencies are needed for Debian and RedHat-based systems. In Linux Mint, I built and compiled at random using meson (make failed to compile).

It should build just fine with both, as long as you have the dependencies installed. As far as I remember, there's only one mandatory dependency and that's GTK+.

Do you still have the output of that build failure?

Probably no -dev packages installed. This is a common trap.

@nestoris, I don't normally build for Mint, but I did in the past for Mint 19.3, IIRC. This is the deb control file from that autotools build. I would appreciate if you could share your final build procedure in this thread, thank you very much.
