Our qml engine is flexible enough to build it from scratch using existing components. It's non-core bug, and concrete implementation is debatable, since no good approach for building nice tree controls is known.

You can do it using listview + delegate with another collapsable listmodel + listview inside.

Anyway this bug is for https://github.com/pureqml/controls/ project, not for core. Feel free to reopen it there.
