This is needed by GitLab to support uploads from flit (GitLab works fine with twine). Addresses pypa#364 of takluyver/flit Addresses #333964 of gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab The most useful one-line of code I ever wrote I believe.

Thanks! This looks fine, and I've verified that it works with TestPyPI. I've hopefully fixed the Python 3.4 CI in PR #417, so I'll just close and reopen this to re-run the tests. |

The most useful one-line of code I ever wrote I believe. If this is merged, we will be able to use gitlab as a fully functional pip repository that works with flit.
