I would like to request to transfer owernship of https://pypi.org/project/emd/ to myself. This project falls under the category Abandoned as there is no owner listed, no releases for over 6 years, and no homepage listed. A private request to the owner cannot be made as there is no contact information listed.

I wish to use this namespace for my project https://github.com/chathika/EMD/tree/EMD1.0_dev/EMD1.0/src/EMD which has been developed under the same name.

I have been unsure as to where to make PEP541 requests for #1506 type situations, and have attempted to contact the Python Software Foundation through email with no response on how to go forward.

Thank you.
Chathika

The user appears to be @psammetichus on GitHub. The easiest and most expedient way to have this occur is if they would be willing to transfer ownership to you.

Thank you for the fast responses @ewdurbin and @di !

@psammetichus, would you be willing to transfer the ownership of the emd namespace?

Thank you.

@ewdurbin there has been no response from @psammetichus and the last GitHub activity of this user has been over a year ago.

I believe the related project is https://github.com/psammetichus/python-emd which is empty with no activity.

What can be done in this case?

It's all yours. How do we accomplish it?

@psammetichus Go here: https://pypi.org/manage/project/emd/collaboration/ and add chathika as Owner.

@psammetichus @chathika I see this transfer has not been completed, is there anything we can do on our side to help?

@chathika seems the project emd has been deleted from PyPI. Feel free to claim the package if you are still interested.

Hi all - apologies for complicating a closed issue... please let me know if this isn't the right place to ask.

It appears like the transfer above didn't happen and I’m interested in the project name if there is a possibility to use it. @yeraydiazdiaz - you mentioned that this project was deleted from PyPI and might be available

@chathika seems the project emd has been deleted from PyPI. Feel free to claim the package if you are still interested.

Though it looks like the repo is still online (https://pypi.org/project/emd) with no recent activity (last updated in 2012) and cannot be uploaded to. Apologies if I’ve missed something obvious… Is this package name available to use? and if so, how could I use it?

I'm interested in the emd project to release the following Empirical Mode Decomposition repo: https://gitlab.com/ajquinn/emd. This is ready to release and it would be fantastic to use this name if at all possible.

Thanks for the help
