Possible to decouple Kasa Wall Switch (HS220) to use switch to control smart bulbs?

I have a HS220 wall switch with dimming, which controls the line power to the connected assembly (ceiling fan). It is controllable via this script, and the Home Assistant integration. But what I'd like to do is leave the power alone when the switch is interacted with, and use it to control things through Home Assistant. Is that possible?

As far as I know, it is not possible to disable those. Even if it were, these devices do not emit locally any types of events but require polling to get state updates.
