Original Redmine Issue: 3771
Affected QGIS version: master
Redmine category:map_canvas
Assignee: Marco Hugentobler

There is some unwanted behavior after applying "resize crash fix"in http://trac.osgeo.org/qgis/changeset/15771.
White stripes appearing each time when panning (moving to sides) some vector map or dialog window is opened or closed over the canvas.

Confirmed in this thread: http://lists.osgeo.org/pipermail/qgis-developer/2011-April/014040.html

Ouch. Seems we have the choice between resize carsh and the white stripes now :-(

I surely prefer white stripes over crashing.

We also found that the rectangle of the zoom-tool is not transparent (on 3/4 kubuntu installations). It would be possible to replace the zoom-tool rectangle (QRubberBand) with a [[QgsRubberBand]] to fix it. However, this would be a bit risky so short before the release...
