QGIS crash when reshaping a polygon #15105
Comments
Author Name: Ben Madin (Ben Madin) A further note - I think that this might be happening when / where the geometry being reshaped has another error within it - such as a duplicate point or intersection. |
Author Name: Giovanni Manghi (@gioman) Can you attach sample data and exact steps on how replicate this issue?

Author Name: Giovanni Manghi (@gioman) New description: Try reshape the attached polygon, qgis will crash with @error 1: TopologyException: found non-noded intersection between LINESTRING (-79200.1 -6480.6, -79206.3 -6500.94) and LINESTRING (-79205.7 -6498.86, -79206.5 -6505.94) at -79205.7 -6498.86 and yes... the polygon has two small errors, nevertheless qgis should not crash. Tested on master on both Windows and Linux.

Author Name: Paolo Cavallini (@pcav) I'm getting the crash when saving after digitizing a polygon across another one, with Avoid intersections on. It obviously depends on some topological errors in the shp, but QGIS should handle it more graciouosly.

doesn't sound like a bug in reshaping. Please file a new ticket (with steps to reproduce, backtrace etc...).

Original Redmine Issue: 5487
Affected QGIS version: master
Redmine category:digitising
I hope this is the right place for this, but when digitising (in this case using the feature replace tool I'm getting intermittent crashes on OSX.
The files I'm working on are all postgis linked databases. I'm not free to share them, but I might be able to excise a polygon or two if that is likely to help.
I have attached the crash report. It doesn't appear to matter whether or not I have recently saved. (It is the dev build from William Kyngesbury, but if it is significantly superseded my apologies)
cheers
Ben
