Currently when you load a multi-layer KML you're forced to pick a layer one at time. Often, however, what you really want is to load multiple layers, and to preserve the relationship among those layers.
For example, I recently attempted to load a KML that contained some polygons in one layer, and some labels in a different layer. All of the "attribute" data was part of the label layer. My project needed to define some rules-based coloring of the polygons, but it was impossible because the polygons were loaded by QGIS simply as a shape and a location with no other attributes. There seemed to be no way for me to relate the attribute table from the labels layer to the other.
I'm no KML expert, but even if you're forced to load a KML layer one at a time, it would be great if QGIS could add an item-id to the attribute table so that I could join them later.
