Hello,

this is a feature request for a single axis zoom.

We are using QGIS to display non geographical information (for example an XY plot). We would like to zoom (enlarge) only one axis. We could program a python widget for this, but we can't find a way to this using the python API.

So the idea is to be able to change scale on a single axis and therefore we would get a diffrent map unit per pixel. Maybe something like the map canvas freeze feature... but for the x or y axis only.

Maybe it sounds crazy but it would be a terrific feature for Qgis... But i have no idea how much work it represent...
