When you create a new layer using menu "Layer" -> "Create new layer" -> "New Geopackage layer" and creating fields using groupbox "New field" the "Type" selector does not contain "json-text".

However GeoPackage support this type.

Further, it is possible to add a new field with the type "json-text" to an existing geopackage based layer using the attribute table dialog.

Afflicted versions (at least): QGIS 3.10 64 bit on Windows 8.1

Can you point to the spec where this is detailed? Not because I'm questioning that you're right, more that I've looked for it and not found it as I am doing some work on JSON support #30758 and up til now couldn't find any details about JSON support in Geopackage.

Hi there
The integration has been done with this PR #8707
I don't remember why I didn't added the option on creating GPKGs. Maybe I forgot...
