Time to layer properties increased in QGIS 3.12.0 #34691
Comments
Any chance you could share a project and data to test with? |
You should try with a new profile too, you have a large number of plugins which could have a negative impact too. |
Tested the same layer in a new project, only this layer but with all my plugins loaded, time to open layer properties is quite similar but opening in "conventional" conditions is quite different. |
@cesarcorreo please try with a new QGIS profile, no 3rd party plugins installed. Also if it happens by just loading 1 single layer in a fresh project than please share it. |
In a new profile there is no delay. Now the problem is, Why it takes long time in my old profile? |
Reactivate your plugins one by one, that'll help you identify the one which cause a slowdown. Then get in touch with the plugin author. |
(I'd start with autosaver, that kind of delay looks similar to the time it takes saving a project file) |
Consider reopen: I tested this file with the followings time results to open layer properties: This file in the hole project. QGIS 3.12.0. Windows 10 -> 5 sec Last friday we were talking about the problem in the Spanish user group in Telegram and some users had the same problem. |
@cesarcorreo see #34942 |
@cesarcorreo can you provide a sample project where this delay can be seen? I can't replicate it with just the data (is fast in a project created from scratch). |
I cannot share the project where I tested the problem. (Sensitive information) |
I received it, and I see a very small difference too... but that is not measurable in seconds. Also I tried 3.10.3 and the time to open that dialog seems the same to me as in 3.12. |
In my case is about 1 sec difference. In my real projects is about 5 sec. Tomorrow ill try to prepare another example |
I have the same problem. But my time is closer to 20 seconds in 3.12 |
Describe the bug
Time to open layer properties in higher in 3.12.0 compared with 3.10.2
How to Reproduce
Double click on any layer.
