It's no more possible to dock the "snapping options" dialog in QGIS. It should either stay floating (cluttering, due to the size of the dialog) or closed (annoying when your digitizing settings should be regularly tweaked).

There is an option in the settings/digitizing: Display main dialog as (restart required) isn't that what you are looking for?

Ah yes I see. I should have checked the settings.
Looks like the default checked "Open snapping options in a dock window (QGIS restart required)" has been replaced with default "Display main dialog as (restart required)" "dialog", making the dock become a dialog in new installs. I'm saying that because I'm used to the dock and don't remember I changed any of these options in recent years.
Anyway... I'm closing then. thanks @elpaso .
