What is the bug or the crash?

On latest version 3.32, on Mac

when running Vector > Geometry Tools > Centroids on multi-polygons layers, resulting layer is as "create centroïd for each part" ticked, but is not.

Steps to reproduce the issue

  1. open a multi-polygon layer (see sample) below
    centroid-mac-sample.zip

  2. click on Vector > Geometry Tools > Centroids Chosse layer and run

  3. see too much centroids are generated on resulting layer

Versions

Version 3.32, on Mac only ! Works well on Ubuntu
Not sure I can be more accurate, I 've observed that when working with students - I do not have a Mac myself

Supported QGIS version

  • I'm running a supported QGIS version according to the roadmap.

Could be linked to outdated dependencies version (probably GEOS) on MacOS package.
If you want more up-to-date version you can try https://qgis.org/en/site/forusers/alldownloads.html#macports or https://anaconda.org/conda-forge/qgis.
