custom dialog dynamically setting position to 'middle'

I have a custom dialog message component. I'm using the dialog plugin. If I bind the 'position' property of the q-dialog to a property in my component it will only accept 'left','right','top'bottom'. It is expecting to get one of these values and only one of these values, otherwise the dialog won't show and an error is thrown. Only when there is no 'position' property on the q-dialog it will act as if no position is set and the dialog will show in the middle of the view.

I want to be able to set the position of my custom dialog in my dialog call, or not set it, so that the default would be no position which means the dialog will show in the middle of the view.

Is there a way to achieve this?
