When I start clair, it started fetching feeds, but never finishes?

Is there anyway to tell the downloading status?

@CaledoniaProject Yes, by simply defining the HTTP_PROXY environment variable when launching Clair.

Is it possible to download the feeds manually, place it somewhere in clair and disable the updater?

Not yet, but we're aware of many people who want to see this feature implemented.
