Pressing Ctrl+D (or Shift+Delete) on the last tab in the :buffer completion with tabs.last_close = ignore removes the item, but nothing gets closed.

Maybe that setting should be ignored in that case (not sure, though) - but if the setting is active, at least the item shouldn't be removed from the completion.
