How do I find out what language I'm sending to my printer?

Background

If you do not have access to content/data that is being printed, you may not know what's actually being sent to your printer.

Windows

Create a Print to File Printer

  1. Open the Control Panel and go to "Devices and Printers"
  2. Click "Add a printer"
  3. Click "The printer that I want isn't listed"
  4. Select "Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings", Next
  5. In the existing port drop down list, select FILE: (Print to File), Next
  6. Select Manufacturer: Generic and Printers: Generic / Text Only, Next
  7. Name the printer "Print to File"
