Seems that _meta/https-bioconductor-org-packages-3-5-bioc-src-contrib/PACKAGES.rds has size zero on my system. I'll delete it and try again.

Purging helps, but the problem occurred again, now with _meta/https-cloud-r-project-org-src-contrib/PACKAGES.rds .
