It would be nice if quiet = TRUE also affected document(). Not sure if best fixed by equipping document() with a quiet argument and passing that along or just muffle it from check().

I really dislike check() running document by default :(

I think adding a quiet argument to document is the best option.

I think adding a quiet argument to document is the best option.

I started descending down that ladder and it's not going to be easy because the lower-level functions generally don't have a switch for verbosity.
