Would it be possible to have the ebs_snapper only take backups of "additional" EBS volumes, but not the root volume? Alternatively, would it just be possible to more granularly choose which EBS volume attached to an instance to snapshot?
It just might make sense for someone to back up a "data" volume, but not a root volume if they can rebuild from scratch without it.
