Crash loop when checking for updates if Github is down

Today, I went to check for updates manually in the app, but unbeknownst to me, Github was down. As a result, the app crashed, and would crash every time thereafter when trying to start it back up. Here is the crash log: http://pastebin.com/f296duU2

Oof! You're right, looks like I put in nil-checks everywhere except at the beginning when the response is actually trying to be obtained. Thanks for the report, that's now fixed.
