   | NOTE: These instructions might be out of date.
   | In case of trouble, please check the developer website
   |       for updated instructions

* BUILD

To build IOFSL, these libraries are required.

- boost (>= 1.35.0)
- PVFS (>= 2.8.1)
- FUSE

If you don't have boost in your system, please install manually by the
following commands.

$ ./bootstrap.sh --with-libraries=date_time,program_options,regex,thread
$ ./bjam
$ ./bjam --layout=system --prefix=/usr/local/include/boost \
  --libdir=/usr/local/lib/ install

* BUILD ROMIO CLIENT

If you use IOFSL by MPI programs, using ROMIO client is the most efficient
way. Currently, ROMIO client is available only in the MPICH2 subversion
repository. Please install like this.

$ svn checkout https://svn.mcs.anl.gov/repos/mpi/mpich2/trunk/ mpich2
$ cd mpich2
$ ./maint/updatefiles
$ ./configure --enable-romio --with-file-system=ufs+zoidfs
$ make
$ make install

* LAUNCH SERVER

The environment variable "ZOIDFS_ION_NAME" must be specified to indicate the
address in which the server waits the connnetion.

$ export ZOIDFS_ION_NAME=tcp://hostname:12345
$ ./src/iofwd/iofwd --config a

If you use Myrinet or Infiniband, please specify ZOIDFS_ION_NAME like this.

$ export ZOIDFS_ION_NAME=mx://hostname:0:0   (HostName:Card:EndPoint)
$ export ZOIDFS_ION_NAME=ib://hostname:12345 (HostName:Port)

* LAUNCH ROMIO CLIENT

The environment variable "ZOIDFS_ION_NAME" must be specified to indicate the
address of the server. And also, you need to add "zoidfs:" prefix to the
filepath, which is passed to MPI_File_open().

$ export ZOIDFS_ION_NAME=tcp://hostname:12345
$ mpiexec -n 4 path_to_binary

* DEBUG HELP

Please see ./iofwd --help for the verbose and debug options.
It is also possible to turn on debugging by using the
IOFWD_LOGLEVEL environment variable.
