Using Garlic Js for persisting forms client side

I have a very long form and I wanted it to persist in the event that the form is not submitted corrected or tab is crashed. I'm thinking of using garlic js for persisting forms however I'm not sure how will I be able to add data-persist='garlic' attribute to forms and what should I do to persist nested forms and dynamic / autocomplete select menus.
