Like default to -g or always run with -v. Similar to how the .rspec file works. I think this could live in the same .gitswitch file, but have separate keys for profiles and settings.

With #15, it might be easier to have a separate file, at a minimum for the gist id/token, or perhaps for all settings. This could be something like .gitconfig_settings.
