Search bar does not open in Help->Documentation #29
Comments
Some explanations are required: The documentation section of http://raspberrypi.org is (nearly) automatically generated from the markdown on Github, hosted in raspberrypi/documentation. The content for the documentation (which is vetted for technical accuracy via the pull request/merge process) is hosted in this repository. Modifications to the content should be made here. What you are describing is a website issue - please see this thread and post feedback there: http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=73664 |
The search bar is supposed to open on the doumentation (there is some JS missing that will allow this) but I think it could be confusing to have search there because it wouldn't actually search the documentation. Unless I can find a way we can search the documentation (perhaps just point the search query at github?) I may remove search from here. |
If you're okay with using Google, something like https://www.google.co.uk/#q=site%3Araspberrypi.org%2Fdocumentation+VNC could work? |
Good idea. I do that (embedded) on Pi Weekly: http://piweekly.net/search |
When selecting documentation from the Help page, the documetation page (www.raspberrypi.org/documentation) opens and the black underline under the green HELP disappears. Clicking on the search icon at the right does not open the search bar.
Maybe because documentation is not located under help in the file hierarchy???
