What is your current rclone version (output from rclone version)?

1.62.2

What problem are you are trying to solve?

If you use a long --vfs-write-back (say 10m), it would be nice to be able to force it to sync back

How do you think rclone should be changed to solve that?

Some rc interface like vfs/sync (which could include other operations)

This is related to #6490 which is about making the vfs/mount layer sync all files on shutdown.

Implementing an rc/sync interface seems like a good first step to implementing that.
