Capture an image without freezing the screen?

Is there a way to avoid the frame freezing while executing TakePictureAsync? I already have an active camera in a screen and i'm trying to capture an image to be used with TensorFlow+PoseNet (using tflite-react-native), but i can't afford to have the captured frame frozen in the image.
