Absolutely fine to ask questions in issues. Also, might be an idea to use gitter.im room for real-logic/Aeron for IRC style interactions. Can't guarantee I (or we) would be there, but we can try to be and it is persisted, so if we aren't online, we will see it later.

There is now a gitter room at https://gitter.im/real-logic/Aeron. As Todd says - that does the same job as irc.
