When you start Realm Studio from command line on Linux, you get this output:

jed-dev-01 ~/wip/realm-core-private (upgrade) $ realm-studio-1.18.5-x86_64.AppImage
installed: X-AppImage-BuildId=9928e890-1ae8-11a8-3708-af2338cfc952 image: X-AppImage-BuildId=9928e890-1ae8-11a8-3708-af2338cfc952

Checking for update
Update for version 1.18.5 is not available (latest version: 1.18.5, downgrade is disallowed.

It gets you to think that you have done something wrong.

As mentioned here this is the root cause of another issue - I'll keep this open as we should probably not even try to register this app on Linux - as it's not supported.

I had hoped that upgrading Electron would fix this, but unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case.

6 years later, same problem. Is there a solution for this ?

complains about:
libva error: vagetdrivernamebyindex() failed with unknown libva error driver_name = (null)

I doubt it's the same problem. Please create an issue filling in the template, so we can help get it resolved 👍
