Resources, bugs and enhancments

hey -

using the resources a little more now, and a few things have come up - some bugs, and a few ideas too.

bugs:

1. when selecting multiple slots, right clicking to run a process (delete, cut etc) unselects all the slots, and only selects the one under the mouse cursor. Makes running a process on multiple slots really difficult

2.saving a folder as a track template doesn't save the children with it. Only the single track. Unlike the native 'saves as track templte" which does save the children in the folder with it - though still as a single track template file.

those are the bugs, and a few ideas that came up

1. auto-save available on right click context menu - depending on how the window is docked, the auto-save button can dissapear - hence the only way to get at the button is to un-dock the resources window - would be nice to be able to get at that through right click or an action

2.would be nice to choose the auto-fill path, from recents\browse_choose\related. This would be really useful because track templates\chains can be spread across many directories. Especially with the ease of audo-save and custom save directories. Having for example

autofill (resource path)
autofill (project path)
autofill (custom\browse)
and a recents dropdown list

would really enhance the ease with which resouces could be accessed -

anyway those are some things that came up recently, see what you think

hey gwok, thanks for the reports..
Though, next time it would be great if you could enter dedicated issues rather than a bunch of bug reports+FRs in the same issue => easier for us to track down (e.g. I'll probably never change the status of this bug/FR (?))
Also, we know you're on OSX but, pretty please, at least specify your SWS version!
(example: issue 1 is dealing with list views and there were deep changes about that recently + other related minor changes in almost all recent builds)

• "Bug" 1: can't repro in SWS v2.1.0 Where are configurations C-F for fades? #9.
  What is your SWS version? If Where are configurations C-F for fades? #9, it's most probably an "OSX only" issue...
• Bug 2 : confirmed! I'll do that at some point as well as keeping track receives that are removed ATM for "safety" reasons (contrary to the native "save track template" which remove sends but keeps receives)
• FR 1: good point, will do!
• FR 2: yeah, it's available for "auto-save" so adding those features for "auto-fill" seems logical, indeed

r558 fixes the selection issue.

(And for the permanent record, "newest sws build" is 2.1.0 #9)

Build #10 will have this fix.

doh - yes 2.1.0

realizing now, how would having different autofill directories affect 'load slot" actions. Realizing now that changing the autofill would change the slots, hence certain actions depending on certain slots would end up behaving differently. any thoughts?

hey gwok! no biggie about the multiple issues..
about your last remark: no pb here because "auto-fill" adds new slots (so that existing ones and their related actions still the same). That's also why there's a "Clear slot(s)" menu item so that you can remove slots without changing others (contrary to "delete slot(s)"). And to replace existing slots, you also have "Load slots..."

bug1 fixed, fr1 and fr2 done => I close this issue and start a new one dedicated to bug2 : issue 376 gwok, I saw your post on REAPER forums: I know.
Also, as I said above, there are other things to improve when savng templates, see dedicated FR. Also, yes, all of that is coming soon :)
