Describe the bug
When searching for text.exact:. the UI highlights seemingly arbitrary symbols in the text, but not the actual ..
When searching for text.exact:*\! it also only highlights the word before the exclamation mark, but not the exclamation mark itself.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to our dev environment
  2. Go to the score_filter_bug dataset
  3. Search for text.exact:.
  4. Search for text.exact:*\!

Expected behavior
Only . should be highlighted.
