Does not work if Reddit account is configured to connect to Reddit exclusively thru HTTPS

As of 2014-09-08, Reddit now allows accounts to connect to Reddit exclusively through HTTPS. If a Reddit account is configured to do so, Socialite does not work anymore (the toolbar does not appear at all), even if you change the reddit URL in Socialite preferences to 'https://'.

I'm using Firefox 32 on Windows 7.

Same issue here! If it's a simple fix I'd really appreciate a patch as this plugin is amazing 👍

If you go into the addon preferences and click on the sites tab, it is possible to add a new site (I called it Reddit SSL) with the URL https://www.reddit.com/ and the type of Reddit API. This will enable the addon again on SSL 👍

Chromakode adressed this issue here but the code was never added to GitHub. #13 fixes this issue.
