The formatter inserts spaces in empty lines, up to the current indent-level of the surrounding elements.

Current result:

Expected result:
image

This causes a lot of whitespace diffs, and most other XML formatters (that I know of) do not behave like that.

Could you provide a config-setting to control that behaviour?
