Ideas:

  • Leveling up
  • "Growing"
    • Starting as a sapling, growing into a tree
    • Starting as an empty field, filling it with plants, animals, home, etc, where each item represents a different accomplishment (e.g. "home" grows with social life, "plants" grow with reading, "sun" shines more brightly with meditation)
  • Small cash prizes for meeting certain goals, or checking in a certain number of days in a row
    • $1 per day that user checks in and has non-zero day
    • Bonus at end of week if user checks in every day of the week
    • Bonus at end of month if user checks in every day of the month
    • Bonus at end of year?
  • What else?

If cash prizes were involved, there could be 3 tiers: see #74

Assign "types" to task categories (e.g. strength, intelligence, mindfulness, competence, health, charisma, etc) to "level up"

Creating group goals:

  • Create small goal that each member of the group needs to accomplish each day/week for a given time period
  • Perhaps each member of the group could pitch in a certain amount of money, and then split the pot in the end based on who accomplished the most. For example, if the goal was to do 20 pushups every day for a month, and everyone in the group was able to do that, everyone would just get their money back. But if a couple people missed a few days, then the others who did more would earn a little extra.

Daily/weekly challenges:

  • Could just be managed by an admin user (like myself)
  • Or users could submit challenges and vote for their favorites
  • Examples of a "Challenge of the Day":
    • Do 100 pushups over the course of the day
    • Meditate for 15 minutes
    • Take a photo of something you're grateful for
  • Examples of a "Challenge of the Week":
    • Organize a dinner with a group of friends
    • Give $5 to someone in need
    • Give a generous tip to a nice server
    • Write 200 words about something you're grateful for
