I'm looking for a similar solution where I can format a data frame using formattable and export the data frame in a file format which can be opened by Excel while keeping the formatting (perhaps via HTML or HTML 5 ?). Think of a "heat map" where the background colors of each cell depends on the cell value.
There are packages which allow to write and format Excel files (xlsx, XLConnect, openxl) but this would require to apply the formats to a data frame at least twice: (1) for display/printing with formattable (2) for export to Excel using one of the above mentioned packages. And perhaps a third time with DT/``DataTablesfor an interactive display inshiny`.
The ultimate solution would be to have a formattable formatted data frame being displayed in shiny using the DT package (which utilises the 'DataTables' 'jQuery' plugin) for the interactivity and then exporting the formatted data frame to Excel.
Perhaps, we do need a kind of standard inRfor formatted data frames.
Hi,
Is it possible to export the table to excel along with color formatting ?
An export button similar to DT will make this the top package for Shiny dashboards.
