Via TrickWithAKnife:

Other files can be archived by opening options.rpy, and changing
    build.include_update = False
to be True.
You should also uncomment the following lines. These lines can be changed or duplicated to any filetype your game contains.
    # build.classify('game/.png', 'archive')
    # build.classify('game/
.jpg', 'archive')
 
When building distributions, you can use the option to exclude files to exclude .rpy files.

I think these are long fixed, and we now use individual issues to track documentation.
