As of 20w17a, Minecraft has supported the full unicode range. Inputting certain characters (such as any emoji past Emoji 14.0, like 馃ス) into the Custom Symbols tab will cause opening the chat to instantly crash the game. These characters do not cause a crash when being typed and sent in chat normally.
