Count.ly Github Plugin

This is a count.ly plugin that incorporates GitHub Webhook Events as Count.ly Custom Events, allowing you to track activity from your GitHub projects in Count.ly.

Installation

  1. Package the folder as a zip file and upload it to your count.ly installation.

  2. Ensure you enable the plugin, from the Count.ly plugins management dashboard

  3. Create a Count.ly application where all your data from GitHub will be inserted under.

  4. Go to the Count.ly ManagementConfigurations page and find the GitHub Analytics configuration section. Ensure you insert the application key from the app you just created, and a secret you will use so that GitHub Webhook events come signed.

  5. Head over to your GitHub project, SettingsWebhooks and add a new Webhook.

  6. Ensure you have set the content type to application/json.

  7. Insert the secret from step 4.

Supported Events

The below events are currently supported:

  • branch or tag creation / deletion: create / delete events

  • forks of a project: fork

  • issue creation / updates: issues events

  • issue comments: issue_comment

  • label updates on github issues: labels

  • pull request creation / updates: pull_request

  • pull request reviews: pull_request_review

  • pull request review comments: pull_request_review_comment

  • push: push events

  • watch / star: watch events
