The following packages have unmet dependencies:
 rethinkdb : Depends: libssl0.9.8 (>= 0.9.8k-1) but it is not installable
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

Thanks for the report @ntran13.

The ubuntu packages for 1.15.0 do not work on debian. I will try to build a package for wheezy for 1.15.1.

thanks @AtnNn - am also stuck on RDB 1.14.1 on Debian for same reason

Packages for Wheezy and Jessie will be release Monday.

The Debian packages for RethinkDB 1.15.1 have been released. To upgrade on Debian, you must first update your sources.list. Instructions are available here:

http://rethinkdb.com/docs/install/debian/
